Business Collaboration out of the box!
Chatterbox is here! The first proactive business collaboration tool built on the Chatter platform from Salesforce.com. FinancialForce.com has developed this powerful new application to help any salesforce.com customer react to business events and collaborate with other key staff to solve problems, improve processes and drive competitiveness.
Chatterbox monitors activities on Force.com against sets of rules defined by users. When the criteria for a particular rule are met, all individuals registered against that rule are alerted and a Chatter stream is automatically started, driving people to collaborate to react to the event or solve the specific problem. Chatterbox searches constantly for events that trigger those alerts, and encourages collaboration in response to a situation. Business situations could include:
- Outstanding debt on a customer account goes over 90 days
- Big deals due to close this quarter
- New product sales
- New customers in my territory
- New products in a deal
- Marketing budget exceeded

Any salesforce.com customer with Chatter enabled in their salesforce.com application can use Chatterbox to collaborate proactively. However, Chatterbox is particularly effective in helping departments work together on finance related processes, such as collecting debt and managing cash flow.
